HypergraphDB is a hypergraph database based on the Berkeley DB released as open source by Kobrix. Interestingly, HypergraphDB contains a Topic Maps implementation based on HypergraphDB conformant with Java TMAPI 1.0.

Thursday, January 7th, 2010Clazzes.org are developing a Topic Maps engine they call Clazzes.org TopicMaps. It’s a Java implementation of TMAPI (2.0?) which stores the topic map in a relational database. The engine is still under development.
New Topic Maps engine: H-Maps
Monday, October 5th, 2009Bioinformatics firm Hölle & Hüttner AG in Germany released H-Maps on October 1st. It consists of a Topic Maps engine and server, a Mapping Framework for conversion from legacy data to Topic Maps, and a Navigator for visualizing the topic maps. There is an online demo of the Navigator, which requires you to install Microsoft Silverlight.
The TopicMapsLab in Leipzig saw a preview of the product, and did a write-up of their impressions.
New Topic Maps engine on Twitter

Monday, July 27th, 2009Lars Heuer has released version 0.1.1 of mappa, his Python Topic Maps engine. This release is a bugfix release, solving some issues with duplicate reified statements and duplicate item identifiers. See the announcement for further details.

New SharpTM version released
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009Marcel Hoyer released version 1.0.15.133 alpha 2 of SharpTM yesterday, adding support for merging. More features are coming.
Isidorus
Friday, January 30th, 2009Marc Wilhelm Küster has written a Topic Maps engine in Common Lisp called Isidorus. It “supports import and export of XTM 1.0 and 2.0, full versioning, merge semantics, an Atom-based RESTful API and Topic Map querying — with more to come.” TMCL support, as well as an AJAX-based frontend are under development.
Isidorus is currently not released, but fully working code can be checked out from Subversion.
New Wandora version released
Monday, January 19th, 2009Grip Studios Interactive has released a new version of Wandora (08-12-10), with the following new features:
- L-system generator for Topic Maps
- Ovi Share extractor
- Atom syndication feed extractor
- Gene Ontology annotation flat file format importer
- GeoNames extractor has been rewritten, and now has 9 different subextractors
